Privacy and cookies

downtown needs no account, keeps no profile that identifies you and uses no advertising or tracking cookies. Below is what is processed and why.

Data controller and contact

The data controller is Bumba Teknoloji Limited Şirketi, Ataşehir / İstanbul. For questions and data protection requests: bilgi@bumbagroup.com.

What we process

• Map, city data and the hotel check: which zone a point falls in and how far it is on foot are worked out in your browser; the point is not sent to us. Only if you paste a shortened map link is it sent to our server to turn it into coordinates, and it is not stored.
• City requests: when you ask for a city that isn't ready, the city, the time and your IP address are stored to prevent abuse (at most 10 requests an hour) and to see which cities people want.
• Server logs: the server may keep technical logs of requests (address, time, IP address) for a short time for debugging and security.
• Visit statistics: Umami on our own server counts visits without cookies and anonymously (aggregate figures such as page, country and device type). No personal data or identifiers are sent.
• Mailing list: if you join, your e-mail address is kept by Bumba Group's shared list service together with your consent and language. Details: mailing list privacy notice.

Cookies and data stored in your browser

Two first-party cookies are used only for choices you make: language (lang) and theme (theme), for one year. The cities you looked at last stay in your browser only (local storage). There are no advertising, tracking or third-party cookies, so no cookie banner is shown.

Your rights

Under article 11 of the KVKK you can ask whether your data is processed, have it corrected or deleted, and object. Send requests to bilgi@bumbagroup.com.

Third parties

The map, fonts and city data come from our own server. The Bumba badge at the bottom of the page is loaded from bumbagroup.com.
